Advanced Implant Surgery and Prosthodontics Level 3

Offered for the first time in Australia!
This program is for clinicians already with experience in implant surgery and prosthodontics who wish to refine their skills in the areas of advanced implant surgery, guided bone regeneration and prosthodontics focusing on long span and fully edentulous cases. It is the ideal preparation for the Level 4 Advanced Implant Surgery–GBR Cadaver Workshop (details on page 32).

This program will consist of lectures, hands-on workshops, video and participant’s case presentations organised in four modules:

Prosthodontis management of the edentulous arch (lecture)

  • Managing the transition of the “terminal” dentition to the “third” dentition
  • Tx planning with NobelGuide including All-on-4
  • NobelProcera Implant Bridges
  • Long-term maintenance

Advanced implant surgery (lecture & hands-on)

  • Immediate implant placement
  • NobelActive – overview
  • Hands-on surgical workshop
  • Osteotome sinus lift
  • Injury to adjacent teeth

Computer-guided implant rehabilitation (lecture & hands-on)

  • Tips on NobelGuide data management
  • Hands-on NobelGuide surgery workshop (Using NobelReplace and Branemark System on partially endentulous maxilla models and NobelGuide surgical templates)
  • Hands-on software training session
  • Potential problems & pitfalls of guided surgery

Site development and simultaneous implant placement-GBR (lecture)

  • Site development prior to implant placement
  • Principles of soft tissue wound management
  • Simultaneous implant placement and GBR
  • Emergence profile
  • Prevention and management of complications

Case discussion of participants’ own cases
Participants are encouraged to present potential, ongoing or completed cases to the group for discussion and to share their experience and any problems they may have encountered.

Chris Xeras graduated as a technician in Sydney in 1988. He owns and runs a commercial dental laboratory in Burwood, NSW specialising in crown & bridge and implants.
