Advanced Orthodontics: Finishing and Detailing - Making it Effective
and Efficient
Presented by Dr Eric Lowenhaupt
New Program
International Speaker
This advanced workshop is designed for clinicians who have completed an
extended orthodontic course and focuses on the frequently discussed
subject of “finishing and detailing”. As has been stated by
numerous notable clinicians, “Anyone can start an orthodontic case
the trick is in the finish”.
In today’s clinical environment the finish must not only address
the goals of aesthetics, function, and stability but must be completed
in an effective and efficient way. The path toward the finish is often
full of detours we create which can become time consuming and
frustrating.
The goal of this workshop is to make this road as straight as possible
avoiding unnecessary side trips. Numerous cases will be used to
demonstrate various aspects of the finishing and detailing process from
simple to complex. Management of anterior dental aesthetics and the
importance it plays in our ‘aesthetically driven society’
will be addressed.
Topics include
- Intraoral adjustments for finishing and detailing
- ‘Smile design’ for the prosthetic patient
- Retainer design and adjustments
- Fixed retainer placement and uses
- Multiple ‘pearls’ for finishing on time
