Ceramic Restorative Workshop
Presented by Dr David Roessler with Associate
Professor Liz Martin
Ceramic materials have the potential to be the most
aesthetic and conservative of all indirect restorations. But which
ceramic should we be using - zirconia, alumina, dilithium silicate or
feldspathic? Whether posterior or anterior, will ceramics last? When
should we use a bonded ceramic?
What are the differences between bonding ceramics and bonding composite
resin? Should facings, crowns and inlay/onlays be bonded the same way
and with the same cement? Will bonding protect teeth and ceramic from
fracture? How should we prepare the teeth? When should we opt for a
crown, a veneer or a creneer? When is an inlay best and when should we
cap cusps? Do we need to alter anything for Digital Dentistry?
The two-day hands-on workshop will help you:
-
Resolve which ceramic system you should use
-
Recognise the bonding technique that matches the
restoration
-
Know when ceramic veneers will work & when they
won’t
-
See advantages of extended veneers (creneers)
-
Determine when to do crowns and when they should be
all-ceramic
-
Realise when to consider ceramic inlay/onlays
-
Understand mixing techniques and materials
