Anterior Prosthodontics: Integrating Porcelain Veneers and Crowns in
the Aesthetic Practice
Presented by Dr Christopher C. K. Ho
New Program
In the modern age of patients demanding more aesthetic and natural
looking restorations, this presentation covers the use of ceramic
restorations (porcelain veneers, onlays and crowns) in the aesthetic
zone from treatment planning to preparation and cementation.
A thorough clinical assessment with comprehensive planning of the
patient will be emphasised with the utilisation of diagnostic waxups in
the workup of these restorations. An integral key to success is the use
of provisional veneers and crowns as a communication tool with the
ability to preview the final restorations with the patient and
ceramist.
The myriad of different ceramics available will be explained with their
indications and alternative approaches to their implementation. As well
as preparation techniques, the often troublesome area of
provisionalisation and cementation of veneers will be practiced within
an intensive hands-on workshop with many practical tips provided to help
participants confidently and efficiently achieve desired clinical
results.
Topics include
- Optimised Smile Design
- Diagnostic approach through use of diagnostic waxups
- Periodontal / Restorative relations - perform soft tissue
recontouring
- Tooth preparation: step by step rationale
- Adhesive procedures: step-by step procedures, finishing and
maintenance protocol
- Role of the laboratory / ceramist in comprehensive cases and
laboratory communication
- Treating dark teeth
- Treating malpositioned teeth restoratively
