Crisis Management in Medical Emergencies
Presented by The Cynergex Group
Managing a medical emergency in your practice requires more than just
medical training and skills. Without a coordinated approach and
effective communication under pressure, simple mistakes can have
devastating consequences.
This activity is designed to reinforce a team approach to the management
of a range of medical emergencies within a dental surgery. Using
the “SimMan” patient simulator, your team can experience
realistic simulations of medical emergencies in a controlled
environment, and build upon the individual knowledge and skills gained
from completion of the Medical Emergencies Certification Training.
This course has been designed for dental practices, and introduces the
team to the concept of Crew Resource Management (CRM) - a system that
analyses team communication and behaviours aimed at increased efficiency
and recognising potential problems before they arise.
Whether you’re looking to refresh your team’s CPR skills, or
improve the way your team performs in a medical emergency, this course
will increase confidence and reinforce skills.
Successful completion of the Medical Emergencies Certification Training
course is a prerequisite for this course.
Topics include
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) Techniques
- Practical application of advanced resuscitation procedures and
CPR
- Team debriefing and assessment
- Scenario practice using SimMan manikin
- Gap analysis
