Crown Lengthening for Aesthetics and RetentionPresented by Dr David Grossberg, Dr Braham Pearlman and Dr John HighfieldLearn how to achieve long lasting restorations and ideal soft tissue aesthetics Surgical crown lengthening is an increasingly used but technique-sensitive procedure. This hands-on course is designed for dentists who want to begin or do more of their own crown lengthening procedures. Seminar-style presentations will cover the theory and rationale for crown lengthening. A live patient presentation will allow participants a ‘surgeon’s eye’ view of the procedure. The course also includes the opportunity to perform hands-on surgery on animal mandible, so participants can learn the tips, tricks and pitfalls whilst trying out the procedures. Participants will complete the course confident enough to identify and begin treating suitable surgical candidates; to gain insight into alternative treatment options where necessary; and determine which patients should be referred. About the presentersDr David Grossberg practices in Sydney as a specialist Periodontist. He teaches widely for general practice and specialist groups, demonstrating a strong commitment to a mutidisplinary approach to dentistry. Dr Braham Pearlman is a specialist Periodontist and an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. Councillor of the RACDS, he also conducts a specialist private practice in Newcastle, NSW. Dr John Highfield is in specialist Periodontal practice in Sydney. Previously Head of the Discipline of Periodontics at the University of Sydney, he is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry.
