Guide to the Perfect Porcelain Veneers

Presented by Dr Michael Mandikos

Porcelain veneers are the ultimate conservative and aesthetic restorations. Prepared and placed correctly, veneers are bio-mimetic restorations that can not only return beautiful aesthetics to the teeth, but also return function and strength.

However, clinicians are constantly faced with many questions in this technique sensitive area.

  • When should a tooth be veneered, and when should it be converted to a full crown?
  • Should pressed ceramics or feldspathic porcelains be used?
  • Can veneers be placed at the same time as crowns, or should all of the teeth be crowned instead?
  • How do you make provisional veneers?
  • What cements should be used?
  • Should veneers be cemented individually or in pairs or groups?
  • I spend so much time on my veneers…how much should I charge for them?

In this unique two-day, intensive program, you will learn all about porcelain veneers from beginning to end. Hear first hand from the clinician on the theory and art of porcelain veneers, and what can really make or break your case. Then, you will be able to participate in a hands-on workshop where you will prepare a veneer, make a provisional restoration, and practice the art of cementation.

Topics include

  • Appropriate case selection for optimal success
  • Occlusal considerations
  • Pressed ceramics
  • Preparation principles and guidelines
  • Provisional restorations
  • Shades and communicating with the laboratory
  • Cementation process
